Shop with a Cop
Making the holidays merrier ā for everyone.
During the holidays, while we all enjoy the hustle and bustle of the shopping and the excitement the season brings, not everyone is as fortunate. So, each December, the LMPF partners with the Louisville Metro Police Department to host the āShop with a Copā event and bring the spirit of the season to underprivileged kids throughout Louisville. For years, this event has made a huge, positive difference in the lives of needy children across our city, as well as our law enforcement community.
Real Lives. Real Stories.
Our officers know the importance of providing children with a sense of normalcy and building trust within the communities they serve daily. The Shop With A Cop event continues to make that possible.
āShop with a Cop is one of my favorite programs, and Iām deeply grateful to both the foundation and the community for their partnership. It allows us to address the needs we encounter on our daily beats. Being able to step in and provide a holiday experience that a child might not otherwise have means the world to me. Seeing the community come together, supported by such a dedicated foundation, reinforces why I do what I do every day.ā

The ImpactāØItās Making
The Shop with a Cop event is one of the LMPFās most public and well-known endeavors. In addition to improving community-officer relationships, it has successfully involved our entire city in helping brighten the spirits of needy kids. Thanks to our community partners, weāve raised $60,000 to provide more joyful holidays for hundreds of children.
How You Can Help
Your donations enable the eight police divisions of the LMPD to invite dozens of children in need to a holiday party like no other ā where each child is given warm winter clothes and toys. These gifts will be the only ones many of them receive. Weāre asking for your financial support to help us continue to bring joy to the less fortunate children in our city and, in turn, create a safer, happier Louisville.
